The ingenious Mouse Swing is a by-product of our annual Janet Wood Innovation Award – a competition, run by Datesand, that must further at least one of the 3Rs. The Mouse Swing is pure genius in its simplicity. It can easily clip onto the bars of most cages, increasing the use of the 3-dimensional cage space and encouraging climbing – a natural behaviour for mice. It is well-known that by promoting the natural behaviour of these animals, stereotypical behaviour can be better prevented.
