Rad Disk Micro 3 (IRD-M 3) holds up to 3 mice for irradiation or transfer and features triple filtration, filter screen protection, Jump Guard, and three dividers. The IRD-M 3 is 4.75" in diameter and 2.5" high. Its autoclavable design helps maintain sterile conditions during standard microisolation procedures. Up to four units can be stacked in specially modified Best Theratronics GS 3000 irradiator carriers, allowing up to 12 mice per irradiation period.
Rad Disk Micro 3 Weanling/Petri (IRD-M 3W) is triple-divided for irradiation of weanling-sized mice and can also be used without the divider and Jump Guard system to accommodate two adult mice. The IRD-M 3W is 4.75" in diameter and 1.88" high. Four cages can be stacked in the stainless steel holder. With the divider system removed, it can also function as a Petri dish for cell or bacterial growth and irradiation. Its absolute filter lid provides increased air exchange, helping prevent pressure buildup while allowing uninterrupted access to supplied gases or ambient air.
Both models feature steam-autoclavable, medical-grade polycarbonate construction, designed to minimize gamma-source attenuation and support germ-free rodent transport between the animal facility and irradiator using microisolation techniques.
For convenient organization and storage, the Micro3 Rad Disk Stainless Steel Holder (IRD-M) is available as an optional accessory.
