Micro-Drill Kit

SKU:
MD-1200

The Ideal Micro-Drill is designed for research applications requiring the use of surgical burrs and trephines. It features a lightweight aluminum alloy construction that provides excellent balance and control during delicate procedures. Cordless operation is powered by a rechargeable 6-volt nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery, offering convenient mobility and consistent performance.

Key features include easy, tool-free burr changes—simply push to install and remove with fine pliers or hemostats—and compatibility with burrs featuring a 2.33 mm shaft diameter. The unit is shipped in a durable hard plastic case with die-cut foam for secure storage and organization. A fully discharged battery recharges in approximately 3 hours, and under normal intermittent use the drill operates for up to 8 hours per charge. Continuous operation yields approximately 45 minutes of runtime, with an expected battery lifespan of up to 1,000 charging cycles.

The drill is compatible with stereotaxic systems such as the Kopf Model 900 small animal stereotaxic manipulator and 1466-B handpiece holder, and its 19.5 mm outer diameter allows use with other compatible stands and adapters. It comes supplied with five round burrs (0.6 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.2 mm, and 1.6 mm) and is backed by a one-year warranty.
